Terms of Service

Paperkeep · Last updated 14 October 2026

These terms cover your use of the Paperkeep mobile application. By installing or using Paperkeep you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

What Paperkeep does

Paperkeep lets you scan documents with your phone's camera, extracts text from them on your device, organises them by type, and optionally backs them up as an encrypted file.

Your documents are yours

You keep all rights to everything you scan. We claim no ownership of your documents and do not use their contents for any purpose other than providing the features you ask for.

Your responsibilities

Backups are your safety net, not ours. A backup only exists if you create one. We recommend keeping a recent backup if your documents matter to you.

Accuracy of automatic features

Text recognition, document categories, suggested titles and extracted expiry dates are produced automatically and will sometimes be wrong. They are provided as a convenience. Do not rely on them for legal, financial, medical or compliance decisions without checking the original document. You can correct any category, title or document in the app.

Availability

Scanning works offline. Cloud backup depends on Google Firebase and on your network, and may be unavailable at times. We may change or discontinue optional cloud features, and will give reasonable notice where we can.

Cost

Paperkeep is free to use and supported by ads. Multi-page PDF exports are free three times a day; after that you can watch an ad to export that document without a watermark, or export it with a small "Made with Paperkeep" note. If paid features are introduced, they will be clearly marked and will not remove access to documents you have already scanned.

Ending your use

You may stop using Paperkeep at any time by uninstalling it. You can delete your account and any cloud backup from Profile → Delete account. We may suspend accounts that are used unlawfully or to abuse the service.

Disclaimer and liability

Paperkeep is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind to the extent permitted by law. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost documents, or for a backup that cannot be decrypted because its password was lost. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
