Paperkeep is operated by WebVogue. For anything in this policy, contact contact@webvogue.in.
Scanning, edge detection, image enhancement, text recognition (OCR) and document categorisation all run locally on your phone. The text extracted from your documents, the page images, and the categories and titles derived from them are stored only in Paperkeep's private storage on your device.
Paperkeep does not request camera permission. Capture happens inside Google Play Services' own scanner, which hands Paperkeep only the finished pages.
Paperkeep does not request access to your photo library either. When you import photos, Android's photo picker gives Paperkeep only the photos you select. Paperkeep copies them into its private storage and processes them on your device, like a scan.
Your documents: never, unless you ask for an encrypted backup (below). There is no document upload and no analytics identifier of our own.
Ads. The free version shows ads from Google AdMob. To serve and measure them, the AdMob SDK collects your device's advertising ID, approximate location derived from your IP address, and basic device and interaction information, as described in how Google uses data from apps that use its services. Where the law requires it (for example in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland) you are asked for consent first, and you can change your choice at any time in Settings → Ad privacy choices. You can also reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone's settings. Ads never receive document images, text, titles or categories.
Crash reports. If the app crashes, Google Firebase Crashlytics receives a crash report: the error, your device model, Android version and app version. Crash reports never include document content, titles, text or file names, and are deleted after 90 days.
If you choose to sign in with Google, we receive and store:
Before anything is uploaded, your documents are packaged and encrypted on your device using AES-256-GCM, with a key derived from a password you choose. That password is never transmitted, never stored, and is not recoverable by us or by Google.
The consequence is deliberate and worth stating plainly: if you forget your backup password, your backup cannot be recovered by anyone, including us.
We do not sell your data and we do not share your documents with anyone. These service providers are involved:
Your encrypted backup is retained until you replace it, delete it, or delete your account. Deleting your account removes both your backup file and your authentication record. Documents held only on your phone are removed when you delete them or uninstall the app.
Depending on where you live you may have rights under the GDPR or India's DPDP Act, including access, correction, erasure and portability. The in-app controls above are designed to let you exercise these directly.
In the app: open Menu (☰) → Profile → Delete account. This deletes your encrypted cloud backup first and then your authentication record. It is immediate and permanent, and cannot be undone.
If you have already uninstalled the app: email contact@webvogue.in from the address you signed in with and ask us to delete your account. We will confirm within 30 days. Full steps are on the delete your account page.
What is deleted: your encrypted backup file and your account record, both permanently. What is not deleted: documents stored only on your own phone — those never reached us, and you remove them by deleting them in the app or uninstalling it.
Paperkeep is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
If this policy changes materially we will update the date above and note the change in the app's release notes.
